Jewellery Care

Silver

Silver is tough and long lasting. If worn all the time it will remain fairly polished, however over time it can start to wear and tarnish. To keep up the shine, it is best to regularly polish your jewellery with a microfibre cloth. If it starts to tarnish, you can achieve a good, homemade polish by dipping your jewellery in a lemon juice and olive oil solution, then wiping clean under warm water with a natural soap. You may have to do this a few times for a more suborn tarnish.

Remove your jewellery when showering, exercising or swimming to keep it’s finish as long as possible and keep away from things like water, perfume, chlorine and body lotion.

Brass

Brass is really easy to keep looking beautiful and golden with a bit of love and care. To keep up the shine on a polished piece of brass jewellery, it is best to regularly polish your jewellery with a microfibre cloth. To refresh the finish on brushed brass jewellery I’d recommend using a 000 grade piece of wire wool and use in much the same way as a jewellery cloth. This will also beat a tarnish on brushed brass. Alternatively, or if your polished brass starts to tarnish, you can gently brush it with a bit of toothpaste as a homemade polishing method!
